Benevolent Fund

The Benevolent Fund provides financial help to IOP members, or their dependants, facing a critical need that cannot otherwise be met.

 The Fund provides help for situations such as:

  • unemployment
  • sickness
  • financial hardship in old age
  • a career break.

The Benevolent Fund is administered by a Board of Trustees that meets throughout the year to consider applications for support. There are procedures in place to deal quickly with urgent cases. Please get in touch for support.

Make a donation or bequest

This fund was established in 1924 by the first honorary treasurer, Major CES Philips. Over the years, it has grown thanks to the generosity of our members who continue to support it with donations and bequests.
